At-home blood self-collection kits, mailed directly to eligible individuals, remove the single largest barrier to participation: the need to travel. In a randomized controlled trial, it was found that home-based self-collection kits for cervical cancer screening achieved 2.4x higher uptake compared to traditional outreach. The evidence base for home-collection models is now robust.
